November is a little late in the year for an all-day, festival-type show—traditionally the province of tank tops and sunshine, not hoodies and cloud cover. But seeing a bunch of cool bands in one day for $10 is appealing no matter the month, and that’s exactly what Party Weirdo, an event put on by Long Beach clothing/music shop The Academy, is offering. Headlined by Matador Records-signed psych-rock vets Dead Meadow, more than a dozen acts (including fellow LA bands Rainbow Arabia and the Tyde) will play in and outside the Basement in downtown LB all Saturday long. Orange County groups My Pet Saddle and the Living Suns get in on the late fall fun, too. November is the new July. Or something like that.
