It’s widely known throughout the dating community that you shouldn’t hate the player, but rather, hate the game. And Compton rapper, Jayceon Terrell Taylor—better known as The Game—has generated a lot of hate within the gangsta rap community for his confrontational rhymes and attitude. After a highly publicized falling out in 2005 with then Aftermath Records cohorts, 50 Cent and G-Unit, Taylor was dropped from the label, moving on to release two albums with Geffen Records and generating new feuds with rappers Jay Z and Yukmouth in the process. However, his elevated lyrical skills combined with his bad boy reputation gained the scrapper two number-one albums, two Grammy nominations and a nomination for “Most Street Cred” in Mun2’s The Bleepin’ Best of ‘08. In short, people love to hate him. Experience the love as The Game performs live at the Grove on Thursday.
