Rejoycifying!

Oh, you’ve heard of him. Composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz (and not the journalist!) has been responsible for a good chunk of musical theater and even Disney soundtracks for four decades now. He’s the man behind one of the most profitable Broadway shows of all time, Wicked. He wrote the music for the long-running Pippin. And you can thank him for the songs in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Pocahontas (whose soundtracks were much better than the actual films), as well as winning the Oscar for “When You Believe” off the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. He’s also won three Grammys and received six Tony nods. This weekend, join six of Broadway’s current-day stars, like Shosana Bean from Wicked and Hairspray and Terron Brooks from The Lion King, for a show in celebration of Schwartz’s many accomplishments.
See? You’ve totally heard of him before.
