His style, though immediately recognizable, covers a wide breadth of subjects—from chubby, cherub-faced couples dancing and even chubbier ladies lounging beachside (his Mona Lisa is damn-near pinchable), to highly violent images of tortured prisoners or bloody depictions of mobsters slaying/being slain. Botero’s work, which includes paintings, drawings and sculptures, will be on display.
