Recently celebrating its 1-year anniversary, the Nomadic Image gallery in the Artists Village of Santa Ana doesn’t see the hurdles generated by the recession, only opportunities to grow. And for a small, photography-based co-op gallery, that is, in itself, quite an accomplishment—what’s kept this modest art space thriving is Nomadic’s constant momentum towards the new and provocative. This Friday the 13th, the venue transforms itself into “The Dark Room,” a spooky, winding maze of creepy photography (you know: visions of the undead, massacred dolls, eerie graveyards, suicide scenes) all in the dark—only a flashlight is provided to see the artwork. The public is invited to this special artists’ party, so come meet the photographers in this deliciously fun, haunted house-esque art show.
