“There was once a boy named Milo who didn’t know what to do with himself—not just sometimes but always.” Milo is bored. Until a magical tollbooth mysteriously appears in his room. After following instructions, he drives his car through—doubtfully, of course—and winds up on an adventure in the Kingdom of Wisdom, eventually accepting a quest to rescue Princesses Rhyme and Reason in order to rid the kingdom of discord and disharmony. Along the way, Milo encounters Tock, a loyal ticking watchdog with the body of an alarm clock; the island of Conclusion (he got there by jumping); the demons on the Mountain of Ignorance; and all sorts of other things that don’t quite make sense—but do. If you’re a fan of the whimsical, the fantastical and the clever—think Lewis Carroll and Antoine de Saint-ExupNry—then you’ll love following Milo through this live stage version of Norton Juster’s classic, didactic children’s tale on, above all, the importance of imagination.
