Bringing together two opposite brain hemispheres, the “Art of Imaging” exhibit combines art with medical science. “The images used in the artwork are captured by the very same imaging equipment that saves lives every day,” says Joseph Gagliardo, executive director of imaging services and innovative technologies at Mission Hospital (the medical establishment in collaboration with OCCCA), “Through this exhibit, our advanced diagnostic equipment now gives life to art, too.” Artists such as Julie Easton, Pamela Grau Twena and Rob Mintz create haunting and provocative pieces—using an array of mediums along with the hospital’s advanced technology—in anticipation of Mission Hospital’s new patient care tower.
Thursdays-Sundays, noon; Sat., Feb. 7, 6 p.m. Starts: Feb. 5. Continues through Feb. 27, 2009
