The same day the Wallflowers play the House of Blues in Anaheim this week is the same day their greatest hits album, Collected: 1996-2005, is scheduled for release. A Wallflowers greatest hits album? The jokes write themselves! But though Jakob Dylan’s band haven’t managed to replicate the kind of success they had with 1996’s multi-platinum Bringing Down the Horse, they have put out several reliably solid, albeit much more under-the-radar records (the most recent being 2005’s Rebel, Sweetheart). Also, for an additional $30 a ticket, the House of Blues is offering an “All-You-Can-Eat Wallflowers Buffet,” with a menu including chicken picatta and rosemary beef. Well-seasoned meats and a little “One Headlight”? Why, Jakob Dylan may step out of his father’s shadow yet.
