Director of the Harvard University Film Study Center and avid filmmaker, Richard P. “Dick” Rogers left behind innumerable boxes of film—intended for an autobiography that went unrealized as of his death in 2001. Olch began piecing together the footage with help of Rogers' wife, Susan, and the result lands somewhere between hypnotizing dream and sobering reality. Spanning over the years from youth to his untimely passing at age 57, The Windmill Movie takes Rogers' life and spins it into an award-winning, surreally beautiful trip into the mind of one man and into the nature of life.
