Weathering the Storm

For an artist who thrives on social commentary, the shitty state of the nation sure provides a wealth of inspiration. Take San Francisco artist Jeremy Fish for example: Every piece in his new collection, “Weathering the Storm,” was created in 2009. A look into the American landscape, this series touches on subjects like the dying automobile and print industries; the greed of those in power, and natural disasters that ravage our cities. But before you pass this exhibit off as a complete downer, know this: Fish’s artistic career has included vinyl toys, skateboards and album art for hip-hop artists—and he has a flair for the kitsch. So while there’ll be depressing subject matter, it’s done with bunnies and really cool skulls.
