This weekend, a new wine pub by the name of Calivino opens in Anaheim, practically steps from Angel Stadium, in case you feel like charcuterie and a swirl of wine instead of a hot dog and a swig of beer before the game.
Their grand opening and ribbon cutting will happen Saturday, May 10th, but they've already soft-opened now.
Its owner, Dan Bradley, a former banker turned master sommelier, describes the place in a press release this way: “I wanted to build a place where one could feel at home, frequent often without having to spend a lot of money, and a place where you can find consistent quality.”

The menu is French-inflected, with croque Pepins (croque monsieurs with chicken instead of ham that's named after noted French chef Jacques Pepin), baked bries, and beignets. But there's, of course, a burger and fries, and also beer, because this is America.
The website has more info, including the full menu.
