SoCalBio Networking Forum – Medicinal Cannabis
On April 17, 2018 an FDA advisory panel unanimously recommended approval of an epilepsy medication called Epidiolex which is developed by the British company GW Pharmaceuticals using an ingredient found in marijuana. This ingredient is called Cannabidiol (CBD) which performs its therapeutic function without getting people high. If the FDA follows the recommendation, as is expected, Epidiolex would be the first such cannabis-derived prescription medicine available in the United States. This SoCalBio Networking Forum is designed to help people learn about the future prospects of medical cannabinoids and whether Epidiolex’s approval may open the floodgates for medical cannabis research, development, and funding. Speakers include: Jessica Rousset, the COO of Cure Pharmaceuticals and Brian Murphy, the CEO, Nemus Bioscience Inc. Others will be announced the day befor the event.
