Orange County’s hall of all-things-indie Detroit Bar hosts a release show for Huntington Beach’s Champagne Blvd. The band feature spaced-out, echoing guitars and vocals, and their website describes the group as purveyors of progressive music. Champagne Blvd.’s sound oscillates between straightforward rock and ganja inspirational, soaring psychedelic jams and even heavier sounds. The rock solos scattered throughout the tunes are reminiscent of proggish band the Mars Volta—but in Champagne Blvd.’s case, the music seems more Klonopin than meth.
