Try imagining the Disneyland of yesteryear—a mid-century wonderland designed for Americans who didn’t need motorized scooters to walk long distances in a single day. Thank goodness for Charles Phoenix and his eye for kitschy history. The avuncular comic oddball has rescued a treasure trove of memories from the Magic Kingdom during the '50s and '60s and shares his collection of found vintage slides with fellow Disneyphiles on the big screen. Part of the Dapper Day festivities, event planners ask us to picture an era “when every visit to the park was a day worth dressing for.” Expect glimpses of some long lost gems including the House of the Future, Skull Rock and Rainbow Caverns.
