The presents are all unwrapped, the dishes are stacked high in the sink, the family have passed out in food comas—good God, we need a drink! Christmas is a unique night to go out. Few establishments are even open, and venturing into a dive bar this holiday runs the risk of getting seriously depressing. That's why we cant recommend enough heading out to a gay bar—specifically Ripples. They have festive karaoke, live DJs spinning campy top 40 and dance hits (Madonna's “Holiday,” anyone?), drink specials, drag queens, go-go dancers and all sorts of wonderful entertainment. Check their website for exactly what they're planning—it's a Christmas surprise right now—but know it's definitely not a lump of coal.
