When Clifford Vargas began his circus in 1969, he scoured the world for top-notch acts—and one treasure he found was the Flying Tabares, two Argentinean brothers with a death-defying trapeze act. Fast-forward a few decades, and the high-flying brothers now run the Big Top, making it into a sort of family business, as circus folks tend to do. Come see the show filled with acrobats and aerialists (most recently featured in Water for Elephants) and a state-of-the-art Big Top tent, handmade in Italy, that seats 1,500 people comfortably. Circus Vargas is performing in Westminster through the end of the month, then setting up in Santa Ana, followed by Irvine.
Mondays-Sundays. Starts: May 19. Continues through May 30, 2011
