While marveling at the physics-defying feats of any Cirque show, it's all too easy to overlook the other highly skilled artists performing—the orchestra musicians, often to be only heard and not seen. But tonight, thanks to the Pacific Symphony, the spectacles of sight and sound get an equal billing. In Cirque de la Symphonie, conductor Richard Kaufman leads his masterful team through a series of classical standards and contemporary works, while performance artists bend, shimmy and fly. Guest artists for tonight's show include Russian aerial artist Alexander Streltsov, Polish national hand-balancing champions Duo Design, and Christine Van Loo, whose accolades include National Champion (seven times consecutively) and Athlete of the Decade in acrobatic gymnastics. It's a feast for both eyes and ears.
