Though their successful summer run may be winding down, Laguna Beach’s Festival of Arts still has a few more events up its beautifully adorned sleeve—such as the “Coffee and Conversations with Artists” workshop. For the past several weeks, Thursday mornings have been an exchange of creative ideas, an outpouring of artistic knowledge, and a heavy supply of the fuel that fires many an artistic expression: coffee. Festival guests are encouraged to take part in discussions and ask artists about their craft. Topics cover a variety of subjects; this week’s theme is “Where Do These Ideas Come From?” The gathering will be hosted by several artists—one of whom is the Festival’s own Kathy Jones, an oil painter whose abstract figures aim to surprise and inspire. Following the session will be a tour of the Festival’s grounds.
