Despite what most of the outside world's perception of Orange County, we're not all dry and boring out here, and some of us are even funny on purpose. We've cultivated a sweet crop of comics behind the curtain and The 2015 Orange County Standup Awards is putting them in the well-deserved spotlight for the second year in a row.

On February 26th you can grab a seat to get inside STAGEStheatre in Fullerton for the festivities that are slated as “a party disguised as a roast disguised as an award show” and are co-hosted by Erik Wargo and Brett Wheeler.
Feel free to come hungry because there will be tacos for everyone, red carpet interviews with Joey Shope of The Self Indulgent Podcast, a musical performance by Zoccola, (fronted by comedian and OC's own Allison Sciulla), a State of The Scene Address by Tim Justin Groeschel, and the presentation of the Johnnie Flowers Lifetime Achievement Award to Laniea Dominguez for her work with Comedy For Causes.
They're expecting a huge turnout of local comics, open micers and features, and possibly even a headliner or two so you are in for a fun filled night with tons of laughter. Some of the 2015 categories highlighted this year are “Best OC Open Mic,” “The Memoriam,” “Best Bit,” “Worst Bit,” “Most Starved For Attention,” and “Best Booked Show” so who will be walking the red carpet and later take home the prizes this year? Guess you'll have to pull out a dapper outfit, slip into it, and go find out for yourself!
