If you liked what CS Lewis did with the land of Narnia, you'll probably get a kick from how he handled heaven and hell. Described as a “Dantesque celestial journey,” The Great Divorce takes viewers on a surrealistic bus ride from a suburb of hell to the foothills of heaven in 90 minutes. Based on the book by Lewis (published in 1945), the play explores themes of oblivion and redemption as ghosts of the “grey town” travel through purgatory and ponder the possibility of leaping into the light. Presented by the Fellowship for Performing Arts and helmed by director Bill Castellino, the play features actors Tom Beckett, Joel Rainwater and Christa Scott-Reed.
