When it comes to conventions, D23 is proving to be not all that much different than Comic Con. You've got your swag bags filled with free crap, your whispered rumors and big announcements, and your super-mega-die-hard fans who feel the need to show up dressed in costume.
But what would be the most popular costume at a Disney convention? Mickey Mouse? Buzz Lightyear? A frozen Walt?

Of course, a lot of the Disney standards were represented. What I found most interesting is that many of the costumes, and I'm talking a good 90% of them, were worn by women.
From Ursula…
…and Cinderella…
…to the Bride in the Haunted Mansion…
…and Cruella de Vil.
Actually, other than Cinderella that's a whole lot of evil represented, huh? Nice!
Anyway, when it came to the fellas the costume pickings were pretty slim. Sure, I saw an Indiana Jones walking around (not really a Disney character, but I'll give him a pass because of the ride) as well as a Kermit the Frog (also not an original Disney character, but whatever), but for the most part guys appeared to leave their costumes at home.
Except for one.
The most popular costume for men at the D23 Expo was… wait for it… JOHN LASSETER!
Lasseter's signature Hawaiian shirts have now become as iconic as a pair of Mickey Mouse ears. Okay, not really, but there were still a ton of them on the convention floor.
I think this guy wins for best likeness, though.
