David Bazan was the creative force behind late-'90s emo band Pedro the Lion, who were known for sensitive acoustic arrangements and Christian-themed lyrical material. Bazan has since taken to working on various solo projects and has recorded three albums under his actual name—most recently with the May release of Strange Negotiation. Featuring an edgier sound courtesy of beefier electric guitars, it might seem Bazan has unleashed some demons — or maybe just come to terms with their presence.
