It’s hard to top Iggy Pop. But the beauty of Desert Daze and its ever-evolving lineup of guitar-toting, experimental rock of all stripes continues to unfold following their sixth landmark installment last year featuring the Godfather of Punk. This year’s festival hosted in a new location in Lake Perris Oct. 12-14 sports another impressive conglomerate of acts including festival faves Tame Impala, Ty Segall, War Paint and a special performance from Mercury Rev doing their landmark 1998 album Deserter’s Songs in celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary. Other acts in the “Phase One” lineup of the the 7th annual Desert Daze lineup include White Fence, Malcolm Mooney of Can, Connan Mockasin, and Chelsea Wolfe.
Moving away from their three year home, the Institute of Mental Physics in Joshua Tree, Desert Daze stays true to its name, sticking the fest in an area nestled between the San Jacinto and San Bernardino mountains in Moreno Valley. It features a beautiful lake with hundreds of acres of natural wonders, several species of local wildlife, desert and costal sage, brush, and cacti. RV and tent camping will be available in well-maintained state park facilities, including real showers and real restrooms, RV power and water hookups, nature walks, and for the first time, an Italian style beach club with lounging, swimming, sunbathing and boat rides.
General Admission and VIP pass options go on sale Friday, March 30th at 10am Pacific Standard Time through DesertDaze.org. Visitor (or General Admission passes) start at $249. Camping and camping rentals will also be available for purchase through a new user platform via Eventbrite, that allows fans to easily navigate and quickly find the option that works best for them.
