Just when you think OC Restaurant Week can’t come soon enough, here’s an appetizer from our neighbors in Long Beach. Starting Sunday, February 28 and lasting until March 5, the city that brought us Snoop Dogg will be hosting its own restaurant week called Dine Out Long Beach.
More than 40 restaurants are signed up to offer 2-course lunches starting at $10 and 3-course dinners starting at $20 next week. And since Long Beach is a huge and diverse city, participating restaurants run the gamut from good ol’ burgers to Honduran cuisine.
Some of the Long Beach we’ve featured with reviews here are participating, including Aji Peruvian Cuisine, Roe Xpress, Panxa Cocina, Michael’s On Naples, and Chianina, winner of the Best Steakhouse category on our Best Of Issue two years in a row.

Before becoming an award-winning restaurant critic for OC Weekly in 2007, Edwin Goei went by the alias “elmomonster” on his blog Monster Munching, in which he once wrote a whole review in haiku.
