How many DJs does it take to drop the bass? For Dirtyphonics, the answer is four. Members Charly, Pitchin, Pho, and Thomas draw from a wide spectrum of influences—from Daft Punk to Metallica—fusing together elements of dubstep, drum and bass and electro. The group has released several EPs over the years, but their first full-length album, Irreverence, came courtesy of local EDM hero Steve Aoki on the Dim Mak Records label. Irreverence captures the group’s willingness to experiment with all facets of sound, fluctuating in and out of electronic genres while maintaining a high level of energy. Their current tour already hit staple festivals like Coachella, iconic venues like Red Rocks, and is now set to stop at the Observatory. The bottom line for these four Frenchman: they know how to ignite one hell of a party.
