Churches, public shrines and even the most humble of homes in Pre-Soviet Russia were heavily adorned with religious paintings and icons. It was believed that although these artifacts were indeed beautiful, they also served as a direct link to the deity depicted—that these objects were a straight line from earth to the spiritual world. Now on display at Muzeo, many of these sacred icons and paintings will be shown alongside modern Westernized interpretations of the holy art. Now on display through January, don’t miss this exhibit of the divine, from past to present.
