One of the more underrated, but certainly appreciated albums of 2015 belongs to Earl Sweatshirt. Released in March, the 21-year-old’s I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside showcased the rapper’s poetic lyrics along with the rawness of its sound made it critical success. Most of Earl’s expertise and dynamism comes in his recorded material so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise for fans that the album was lauded as it was. While Earl’s live show isn’t as dynamic and he isn’t as charismatic a performer like Tyler, the Creator, his workmanlike stage presence is more for nuts and bolts rap fans. His relationship with Odd Future may be unknown, but what is confirmed is that Earl Sweatshirt is one of rap’s best lyricists.
