Earth: Fragile Planet

It’s been beaten into our heads since kindergarten: Save the Planet! While we’ve taken leaps and bounds closer to environmental prosperity, we’re still far from the safe zone. The newest exhibit at Mission Viejo’s Saddleback College, “Earth: Fragile Planet,” hopes to raise ecological consciousness all the while indulging our artistic appetites. Sent from New York’s Society of Illustrators, a 109-year old establishment dedicated to the fine art of illustration, “Earth: Fragile Planet” features the personal views, opinions and concerns about the current state of things from some of the world’s most skilled artists. Earth, energy, air, water, and wildlife are the five given categories—and each one is guaranteed to make you look at the world in a whole new light.

Mondays-Wednesdays, noon; Thursdays, 4 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 18, 10 a.m. Starts: Sept. 13. Continues through Sept. 30, 2010
