Echo Echo

Echo Echo drummer Darren Carr once called his band “wuss rock”—that was when they were named after their front man Steve Carson, and that was a long time ago. While U2 and Coldplay comments were the usual back then, the re-christened Echo Echo have released their first album, Fall Like You’re Flying (available free at falllikeyoureflying.com), and discerning minds can sense the spirit of early-to-classic Radiohead animating them now. While they were a strong contender for Best Live Band in the OC Music Awards, Fall is a producer’s workout, bristling with subtleties and tiny touches. At least call it “nerd rock”—they’ve obviously done a lot of homework.
