Every Labor Day weekend, the Orange Circle shuts down and turns into a tiny replica of the way we wish the world really was. Each street hosts a bundle of different nationalities—North Glassell becomes German, Norwegian, Polynesian and Dutch, for example—that offer delicious examples of their country’s food and music to thousands of fair-goers. It can all be a little overwhelming, so the Weekly recommends you take it slowly—but at the very least stop by the Greek area for some loukoumades (a soft pastry drizzled in honey), then step over to the Irish Stage for music from local boys the American Wake.
