Born in Iran, Farr Ligvani has spent his entire life conveying the world around him through art. His talent shone early on—he was painting by the age of four, and by twelve he was designing furniture. His ability to combine artistic flair with solid construction and functional design led him to Los Angeles in the ‘70s to study his craft. Now a successful artist in multiple mediums, Ligvani’s work touches on both Eastern world view and Western psychology, and strives to find the balance between simple and complex, wonder and yearning. As he puts it, “Abstraction is that silent longing in each piece to call forth, to invite and meet their own audience, for a reciprocal dialogue, for a story, a memory, or just a …!”
Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m. Starts: June 28. Continues through Aug. 5, 2010
