Italy's Torti Winery, the family-owned producer of Hello Kitty “fashion” wines, supplied South Coast Plaza's Antonello Ristorante with the goods to present (in collaboration with Sanrio) an inspired, four-course menu being offered now though November 12. Meals begin with an Insalata D'Anguria: sweet, seedless watermelon with extra virgin olive oil, fig balsamic and feta cheese. That bow you see— white chocolate!
Housemade farfalle is then infused with beets for a pretty pink hue. Afterwards, it's coated in a creamy Alfredo sauce for your second course. The main entree is Manzo Brasato, a braised short rib over rich saffron risotto. It ends with a flourless, kitty-shaped chocolate cake. The quartet of dishes comes out to $35.95, before alcohol.
The cost for a single glass of bubbly is $7 for a six-ounce pour. A bottle is available for purchase when you come in to enjoy the Hello Kitty menu. For an entire bottle, pricing is as follows: Sweet Pink is $27; Spumante is being sold for $30 and Sparkling Rose is also $30 for a bottle. If you've got a Sanrio fan deserving of a special treat, we found your next reservation.
