All right, so ever since your kids saw Finding Nemo and became obsessed, you've read 'em plenty of books and bought 'em a couple of pet goldfish that they immediately flushed down the toilet (“All drains lead to the ocean!”). But have you taken them to the Ocean Institute in Dana Point? During the weekend, it's open to the public. You'll get to participate in plenty of family-friendly activities, ogle sea creatures, watch feedings and much more. The Institute even offers such fun experiences as the Marine Mammal Cruise (not just whales!), night cruises and even the opportunity to go aboard a tall ship . . . which segues nicely into your tyke's next Disney-fueled obsession: pirates.
