There are few scents more pleasantly distinctive than the smell of bonfires wafting across Pacific Coast Highway. If you haven’t gone to the beach very much this summer, Labor Day is pretty much your last chance. So straighten out some wire hangers for hot dogs (salmonella shy? Don’t be afraid to try veggie dogs), S’mores and whatever else you might want to cook on a stick, scout out a fire pit, and watch one of the last sunsets of summer sink behind the Huntington Beach pier and disappear into the ocean.
