There's something about middle-aged white guys and country music that just goes together as naturally as Makers Mark and American Spirits. Oh, and just so we're clear, Los Angeles outfit I See Hawks abstain from even the smallest trace of any of the newfangled alt-country folksy stuff currently running rampant through the scene. This band is much more, well . . . you know when you drive through the desert, and at a certain point, your radio is only able to get two or three stations buzzing in from Honky Tonk Land? Slide guitar and songs about “my wife ran away with my dog”? They're like that. But don't think these guys are squares-check out I See Hawks' song dedicated to Humboldt.
