After reading some of the comments posted on bands and fans during my reviews of this year's OC Music Awards, douchebag probably rates somewhere in the middle of the Richter scale. Yet when I saw Daniel Morones, the 32-year-old singer/guitarist of Tustin folk duo Foxxhound had called me just that on his band's Facebook page–in response to my observations on the heady aura and intense demeanor of his cellist, 17-year-old Lizzy Murtough, I'd be lying if I said I the old ego wasn't a tad singed. Still, I felt it was appropriate this week to spotlight the folk-based duo who specialize in abstrummy, pathos laden, though optimistic romantic brand of folk rock.
I figured while I was at it, I might find the chance to atone for some of the sinful things I've written about other OC bands in recent weeks. Read the story here, and check out what Morones said about my review of their live show last month.

I've got a bone to pick with you, Daniel.
Fire away, dude.
You called me douchebag (the worst kind of bag) on your Facebook page. If you have something to get off your chest, this is the time to do it.
Perfect. I did feel that, yeah, when you were writing [about the OCMAs], you were putting more emphasis on what they were looking like as opposed to just the music. Even when you were reviewing [the night Foxhound played], it seemed like you were more worried with what [the bands] were wearing.
Good point. But you'd have to agree your cellist has a unique intensity while she's playing that's hard to ignore–and it's in her face.
[Laughs.] She knows it, too. And she's not insecure about it, but she knows it is what it is. She'll say, “When I play well, I look like I'm sad. I don't know what to do about it; it's just how my face contorts…People say I look sad.” It's a running joke at her school.
