If you think a metal statue of Marines raising the stars and stripes over the sands of Iwo Jima is the finest representation of the Corps, think again, numb nuts. Late great filmmaker Stanley Kubrick outdid that in 1987 with his cinematic masterpiece Full Metal Jacket. Featuring some of the choicest dialogue to grace the silver screen, thanks to actor and real-life Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey, this flick follows a group of jugheads from boot camp to the apocalyptic urban warfare of the Tet Offensive. And though the first half of the film features scatological, homophobic, and incestuous slurs that even jaded ears might find offensive, chances are you'll be unable to contain your laughter. But bear in mind, the levity is an incongruent prelude to the the horror of the film's second half.
