If you are a person of a “certain age,” the letters NWA mean a dip back into time when one of the hardest rap groups owned your car stereo. Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella were breaking eardrums, pumping up parties, and crushing competition all while putting Compton on the map and rocking a “parental advisory sticker” on the front of their albums. And don't even get us started on what they did for Jheri curls and Starter jackets! So fast-forward to 2015 and the legendary rap group gets a bio pick and, the nation goes crazy. Over 56 million dollars crazy in fact.

Before, during, and after the movie Straight Outta Compton blew the roof off of the box office this weekend, the sweet folks on Twitter had some things of their own to blow off. There was tons praise, “bye Felicia” chatter, haters of young people liking NWA (how dare they?!), questions about the future of the franchise, race baiters…basically what we're saying is, this movie meant a lot to a lot of people. And how they chose to express themselves was by keeping it rather casual instead of the usual gangsta shit we know and love so much. That turn on Twitter could only mean one thing, Straight Outta Compton is a hit. Again.
