If you took a look at my pictures from the Craft & Hobby Association's trade show in January, you may remember this little gem, which was follwed by a tweet about how I totally geeked out when I met Stitch 'N' Bitch author Debbie Stoller.
Debbie was debuting her new line of Stitch Nation yarn, developed through a partnership with Red Heart. Now don't go curling your noses up at me, ladies and gents. Yes, it's Red Heart yarn. But did I mention the Stitch Nation yarns are premium-quality, 100% natural fibers? And that these generously sized 85-100 gram balls of yarn are under 5 bucks a pop?

Full of Sheep is the Stitch Nation Line's 100% Peruvian wool variety. It comes in 12 bright cheery shades, perfect for mixing or matching. With tasty colors like Poppy, Clementine, Passionfruit, Honeycomb and Mediterranean, it's a natural for color work and is great for felting. The Passionfruit colorway was a big hit at the CHA Craft Supershow in January, and Leigh-Ann Dennison from Jo-Ann Fabrics Headquarters in Hudson, Ohio is a fan of the Clementine colorway. “As a yarn crafter myself who happens to live in “Browns Town”, I can tell you it's a challenge to find a rich, vibrant orange yarn that isn't over-the-top neon or, conversely, drab,” she shares.
Bamboo Ewe from the Stitch Nation line is a nice affordable blend containing 55% viscose from bamboo and 45% wool. It combines the softness of wool with the sheen of bamboo. It comes in 10 glorious colors like Geranium, Beach Glass, Sprout, and Twilight. I've never knit with bamboo yarn before, I think because I've shied away from the price a little bit… and I gotta tell ya I can't wait to pick up some of this yarn for myself and try it out!
Another fancy yarn I've never tried before is alpaca, and Stitch Nation yarn is to the rescue here as well! Their Alpaca Love yarn is a plush blend of 80% wool and 20% alpaca, and is 100% awesome.
