Great Big Things made their great big exit last summer at the Prospector, capping a short but bright career that culminated in their self-titled EP, an expertly arranged set of four songs that transplanted classic British style—McCartney’s Beatles songs, the Zombies, a little ELO—and revved it up to match speed with modern indie-pop bands such as Apples In Stereo. Now, Great Big Things are back for what they’re calling a “reunion show,” although it’s only been months. Is college breaking up yet another promising young band? It’s a good idea to give these songs a second trot around the green—the Kinks would have been much bigger here if only they’d been able to play more U.S. shows. Same principle!
