has finally opened in Tustin in the space previously occupied by a Robek's. Yes, it seems like an unlikely place for a funnel cake place (it's nowhere near a ferris wheel or something remotely county-fair-related).
But now that it is here I'm breathing a sigh of relief, because for the longest time since they put up their permanent sign, it didn't seem like it was going to happen. I did announce it back in April.

For what it's worth, though I took this picture when before operating hours, it looks like it will do the funnel cakes exactly as advertised in the pictures–drizzled with syrup, chocolate and strawberry at the very least, and dusted with an excess of powdered sugar.
Oh yes, I know what tonight's dessert will be.
