Over the past year, Los Angeles-based duo HOLYCHILD as emerged as one of the brightest young talents. Liz Nistico and Louie Diller have creatively infused their classical roots into a sound they proudly pronounce as brat pop, and so far, it’s won them plaudits. The first single off their debut album, Running Behind was delightfully catchy for it’s heavy percussion and memorable lyrics, but don’t let their sound fool you. HOLYCHILD has wisely used their platform as a budding pop force to weave their socio-political message into their music. Taking all of that into account, including the group’s must-follow social media accounts, it’s easy to understand why so many have become smitten with the duo, whose brighter days are ahead of them.
