As your Anaheim Ducks charge into the playoffs (and win despite the referees turning a blind eye to the attempt by Detroit and their fans to get a timeout with less than a minute on the clock, not that we're bitter), changes are afoot at the Honda Center for next hockey season. The Grand Terrace–you know, the new construction bulging out from the south side of the arena–is due to be done in time for the home opener.

It'll have a large sit-down restaurant open to the public (i.e., not just on game days) and will have a much larger team store, which will be good news for anyone who's ever tried on a sweater in the claustrophobic space it's in now.
In addition, arena management just announced that Wolfgang Puck–yes, that Wolfgang Puck–will be putting his name on the Grand Terrace restaurant. It'll be led by Matt Bencivenga, who runs Wolfgang Puck Catering, and who was executive sous chef at Spago when it opened. It'll be open to the public, which means you won't need a game ticket to eat there. The plan is for a full license, beer, wine and cocktails. (Let's hope they hire craft bartenders.)
For those who don't have the coin to eat in the Grand Terrace, there will be a Wolfgang Puck pizza concession at level 210, though obviously you'll need a hockey ticket to get in there.
Club membership is already sold out (it's $400 a year on top of your ticket price), but they are creating a waitlist (call 877-WILDWING to get on the list).
