Love is sometimes described as “a temporary insanity, curable only by marriage.” And, like the long disclaimer in a pharmaceutical commercial, the musical I Do! I Do! explains in detail the side effects of the medicine: laughter, sadness, passion, loneliness, and happiness. Based on the play The Fourposter by Jan de Hartog with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics Tom Jones (the theatre writer, not the Vegas superstar), I Do! I Do! tells the story of Agnes and Michael Snow, spanning their 50 year marriage from 1895 to 1945. Directed by Alan Souza and performed by Davis Gaines (The Phantom of the Opera) and Vicki Lewis (NewsRadio), the limited engagement of this love letter to the ups and downs caused by the ol’ ball and chain is sure to delight audiences. Bring your significant other say yes to I Do! I Do!
