It's said that some of the laugh tracks sitcoms use today are actually pre-recorded bytes from as far back as the '50s—so while it's a little creepy that the folks you hear have probably passed away by now, it's comforting to think they were chuckling at some of the finest shows during TV's dawning age. At I Love Lucy Live on Stage, audience members are transported back to the era of Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel, and treated as special guests at the Desilu Playhouse studio, viewing a live taping of two classic episodes: “The Benefit” and “Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined.” Starring the impeccable Sirena Irwin and Bill Mendieta as the star couple, I Love Lucy Live on Stage takes Lucy fans behind the scenes to see their beloved comedienne live and completely in color.
