For tattoo and kustom culture enthusiasts, it's hard not to think of the first weekend of June as Christmas, when the annual Ink N Iron Fest approaches for another wild rock-and-roll-abilly weekender event. This year, you've got your familiar attractions—the Motorama Car Show, tattoo contest, an outdoor screen showing vintage movie classics (this year, it's blood-soaked spaghetti Westerns on the program) and scintillating cabaret shows featuring a bevy of leggy beauties. And, of course, kickass bands every day from local homeboy Nick Waterhouse to country legends Merle Haggard and Wanda Jackson; punk visionaries Suicidal Tendencies, The Buzzcocks and The Damned; and psychobilly favorites like Guana Batz, Batmobile and Koffin Katz. In between, you’ll have the chance to mingle with talented tattoo artists for that sailor design you always wanted—not to mention all the immaculately coiffed babes everywhere.
