Irvine's Global Village Festival This Weekend

And this Saturday, and this Saturday only, on October 2nd, Bill Barber Park will, once again, be the site of the city's we-are-the-world celebration of cultures which will include music, dance, and of course, sword fighting and martial arts!  What's more unifying than a demonstration of fake violence?
Also, it wouldn't be a party without food.  A total of 44 restaurants are showing up this year.  A few are familiar faces including Blackmarket Bakery, Clay Oven, Valhalla Table and The Chippy.  Also, if you've not caught up with some of Irvine's indigenous gourmet food trucks yet, Piaggio on Wheels and Seabirds will also be there.
More details follow after the jump.
