You might know him as the Scottish-American boyfriend of Rilo Kiley front woman Jenny Lewis. You might also know him from his role as Roy Orbison in Oscar-nominated Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. But what you might not know is that Rice has a promising career as a musician as well. He opened for Lewis' solo tour on a string of U.S. dates last winter, striking audiences (and probably first-time listeners) with his folky sensibilities. It sort of sounds like Neil Young N Crazy Horse. Or the Jayhawks. Or, in a word, Laurel Canyon. (Okay, that was two words.) Sure, his famous and adorable girlfriend is propelling him toward music stardom, but albums such as Further North and Trouble Is Real are going to get him there.
