Kids, Teens and Lady Shoppers Beware of This Creeper Collection

Teens, children and lady shoppers will want to beware after reading this week's collection of sickness.

There's the harsh sentence for a convicted Orange County child rapist who made 35 trips to Cambodia after his 1994 parole to rape girls and the plea deal for the caretaker of a teen girl with disabilities he raped at a La Palma long-term healthcare facility.

Also, there's additional charges against a former Santa Ana Islamic mosque volunteer accused of preying on little girls he was supposedly praying with as well as the case against a former Long Beach private school teacher and Cypress Jehovah's Witness elder accused  of sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy student/congregant.

Then there's the charges against a man accused of sexually assaulting three girls in the Lake Forest area from 1998 through this past May and the arrest of a fellow suspected of trying to rape women grabbed in Irvine Spectrum parking structures.

Ronald “John” Gerard Boyajian, who was convicted on nearly two dozen counts of statutory rape in Orange County more than 20 years ago, was sentenced last week to 70 years in federal prison for repeatedly traveling to Cambodia to sexually assault impoverished children. Boyajian began his sick trips to Cambodia shortly after completing parole from his 1994 Orange County convictions for illegal sex with a minor and oral sex with a minor. He was arrested by the Cambodian National Police in February 2009 while on his 35th trip to Asia over a nine-year period. After about five hours of jury deliberations, the former Palos Verde resident was found guilty in March of federal counts of international travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with minors, engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor in foreign places, and commission of a felony offense involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender. Acting as his own attorney, Boyajian had kept his case a stalemate for seven years, and he declined to participate in his Aug. 1 sentencing, explaining he was “unprepared” to go forward. But U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder went ahead and imposed the harsh sentence, which includes mandatory sex offender registration for life should 55-year-old Boyajian ever be released from federal prison. Snyder had heard victim impact statements from three women in their 20s who were children when they were sexually assaulted. One woman urged the judge not to allow the defendant to leave prison because he could harm other children “just like it happened to me.”

Jose Reyes Calderon was sentenced to seven years in state prison on Thursday as part of a plea deal for raping a teen girl with disabilities at the La Palma long-term healthcare facility where the 58-year-old worked. Calderon copped to felony rape of an incompetent person, lewd acts with a dependent adult by a caretaker and sexual battery on an institutionalized victim. The girl, who is mute and requires a wheelchair, was assaulted in October 2014, according to prosecutors.

Sean Joseph Scanlan was charged Friday with sexually assaulting three girls, dating back to 1998, in the Lake Forest area. The last molestation happened this past May, according to court records that indicate the 33-year-old has been charged with felony sex or sodomy with a girl 10 years or younger, distributing pornography to a minor to engage in sexual conduct and statutory rape with a minor younger than 16, and four counts of lewd acts on a child younger than 14. He also faces sentencing enhancement allegations of more than one victim. Held on $1 million bail, Scanlan is scheduled to be arraigned on Aug. 26.
Ahmad Henry Osman, a former volunteer at the Indo Chinese Islamic Center in Santa Ana, was arraigned Tuesday on additional charges for the alleged sexual assault of a 7-year-old girl who came forward after seeing media coverage of prior charges against him. He was teaching classes at the Santa Ana mosque, where he befriended the girl and her family and then, on two occasions at the center between Nov. 19, 2007, and Feb. 25, 2015, orally copulated the 7-year-old and touched her vagina, the Orange County District Attorney's office alleges. Her family came forward after that agency published a press release seeking potential additional victims of Osman, who'd previously been charged with performing lewd acts on two girls, ages 6 and 9, under the guise of coming to the residence they were staying at for daily prayers with them. That prompted the 9-year-old's family to contact the Santa Ana Police Department, and further investigation led to more alleged incidents where Osman is claimed to have sexually assaulted each child. Currently held on $1 million bail, the 54-year-old Tustin resident now faces seven felony counts of performing lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 and one felony count of oral copulation with a child 10 years or younger, with a sentencing enhancement allegation for multiple victims. A conviction could result in a sentence of 105 years to life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration, prosecutors say. 

Jason Morris Gorski faces charges for the alleged sexual abuse of a 13-year-old boy who was his student at a private school in Long Beach as well as a member of a Jehovah's Witness congregation in Cypress where the 43-year-old was an elder. Gorski is accused of sexually assaulting the boy at various Buena Park locations between June 12, 2007, and June 11, 2008, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office. The next year, the boy reported the abuse to his congregation, and Gorski was removed from his role as elder, although he remained an active member, prosecutors say. The following year, Gorski moved to Fort Mill, South Carolina, and became a member of a Jehovah's Witness congregation in nearby Charlotte. After the victim reported the alleged abuse to the Buena Park Police Department this past June, Gorski was arrested. He faces four felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14 with a sentencing enhancement for substantial sexual conduct with a child that, with a conviction, could send Gorski to state prison for 14 years and require him to register as a sex offender for life. He is currently out of custody on $100,000 bail. Meanwhile, the investigation and search for other possible victims continues. Gregory Thomas Ditto has been arrested on suspicion of trying to rape two women he allegedly restrained in Irvine Spectrum parking structures in July and last week, according to police and prosecutors. The first incident happened on July 20, when a woman was grabbed from behind inside a parking structure, picked up and taken toward a stairwell before fighting off her attacker, who ran off. Last Tuesday around 10 a.m., another woman inside a different Irvine Spectrum parking structure was forced to the ground by a man who then tried to sexually assault her before she fought him off and he ran off to a vehicle. But his intended victim got a license number that she passed along to the Irvine Police Department, whose detectives also studied Irvine Spectrum surveillance video before arresting Ditto several hours later in Lake Elsinore. The 25-year-old Temecula resident is charged with one felony count of attempted kidnapping to commit a sexual offense, two felony counts of assault with intent to commit a sexual offense, one felony count of attempted sexual penetration by a foreign object and force, and one felony count of sexual battery by restraint, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office, which adds that a conviction could send Ditto to state prison for 23 years.
