It sounds like the Los Angeles Police Department found a regular Cyrano de Bergerac when it hired Sgt. Joshua Jinwook Chong. The Orange County District Attorney says the 41-year-old Fullerton resident sent threatening text messages to an unidentified woman with whom he had formerly been romantically involved. He has been charged with one felony count of making criminal threats and two misdemeanors.

On Oct. 17, 2011 Chong reportedly sent text messages to the woman threatening to kill her male friend. Not satisfied with this level of intimidation, Chong turned up the heat and called her directly to threaten her life.
Fearing for her safety, Jane Doe left her home to spend the night at a friend's house. While away, Chong sent more messages threatening to show up at her work. He is accused of calling her more than 25 times over a 24-hour time span. The California State Fullerton Police Department investigated the case and arrested Chong, who is currently free on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned today at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
